At 1630 on 24th October 1960 the new Indian dredger AJOY was returning to Pudzeoch Basin, Renfrew, after trials at Newshot Isle, when she was in collision with the Renfrew Ferry on arrival, and immediately grounded and sank.

The dredger was raised by Metal Industries at 6pm on 14th November 1960.

At 0955 on 18th November AJOY moved to Elderslie Number 1 Drydock for repairs
