It's sad to report that it was a horribly dull afternoon and the sun was hidden behind heavy black clouds when HAV ALDA pulled away from Fairlie Quay and started on her passage to the Fish Farm at Druimyeon Bay (Isle of Gigha)

The vessel is now picking up speed as she leaves Fairlie Quay.   The white blob just to the right of her stern is Caledonian MacBrayne's ferry LOCH SHIRA leaving Cumbrae Slip for Largs

A heavily overcast sky with very occasional, indeed very short times, when the sun made it's guest appearance through a break in the thick dark clouds.   The afternoon was extremely dull with frequent outbreaks of light rain and drizzle.  Visibility was moderate and often very poor.  Not exactly ideal for taking photographs of ships.   But, for only a few seconds sunlight shone on HAV ALDA with the Isle of Cumbrae in the background
