Service: Built for Ocean Steamship Co Ltd, part of the Blue Funnel Line of Alfred Holt & Co, for Singapore-West Australia ports service.

On 3 Feb 1942 she sailed with 300 passengers from Singapore, three days before the surrender to Japanese forces. Attacked by high-level bombers on six occasions, with two direct hits, causing fires, and one dud in the hold embedded in bags of flour, which was successfully removed. On 14 Apr she was damaged again during American landings at Milne Bay.

Survived the war and remained in service until last sailing from Fremantle 21 Jul 1964.

Sold for breaking up at Hong Kong.
