   The 7,723 gross ton Spanish passenger and cargo ship MONTE URQUIOLA struck Tower Bridge, London, as she was passing through the bridge on her way upriver to the Upper Pool to berth at New Fresh Wharf.

   The ship, owned by the Aznar Line of Bilbao, was arriving with passengers and a cargo of fresh fruit from the Canary Islands and  sustained only slight damage to her port side
