Been avidly following your Ross & Marshall puffer daily diary for 1959

24^th January tells of LIMELIGHT at Troon loading Coal for Isle of Gigha.

How do you pronounce Gigha ?

Douglas replies :

Say  dee

Then change it to  gee   (as in  geek)

Then say  ah     as in “ a bag of potatoes”  or  “ a tin of beans”

So it’s   gee ah
