The Glasgow owned Hugh Hogarth / Baron Line tanker BARON KILMARNOCK broadcast that she was in distress with engine trouble. She reported her position as 50 miles north-west of Terschelling, Netherlands, and on passage light-ship from Oslo (Norway) to Texas (USA). The Dutch salvage tug HOLLAND of NV Schheepvaart Mij G. Doeksen & Zonen attended from Harlingen and stood by the tanker whose crew were attempting to make repairs.
BARON KILMARNOCK was built in 1953 by the Caledon Shipyard at Dundee and is registered in Ardrossan, Scotland. |
