Greek-owned cargo ship GEORGIOS S arrested at Brunswick Dock, Liverpool

   The 2,500 gross ton Greek-owned cargo ship GEORGIOS S in Brunswick Dock, Liverpool, was arrested by the Admiralty Marshal for unpaid port dues.   The Marshal fixed an official writ to the mast of the ship, notifying that the vessel must not be moved without official permission.

   A watchman was placed aboard the ship and the Port Authority were warned that they were not to allow the vessel to leave port.

   GEORGIOS S, which was flying the Liberian flag, had arrived in Liverpool on March 3 with a general cargo from Rosario and Buenos Aires in Argentina.

   A spokesman for the Liverpool Agents for the ship advised that she had been arrested for non-payment of outstanding dues and expenses during her visit to Liverpool.  He added that the ship’s master had telephoned the owner of the vessel in Buenos Aires and was assured that money would be cabled.

   Meanwhile the Admiralty Marshal can supply the minimum victuals, domestic fuel and water to avoid hardship to the crew.
