oil, both times from oiler CLYDE ENTERPRISE.


On sailing from General Terminus Quay the 605 feet

long  FILEFJELL (Pilot B. Taylor) was towed astern by

4 tugs, passing Queen’s and Prince’s Docks, Yorkhill,

Meadowside and Merklands Quays to King George V

Dock where her stern was put into the dock and she

was canted to port and then proceeded ahead going

downriver to Greenock and the Firth of Clyde and

then on passage to Monrovia, in Liberia, West Africa.
