STRONGBOW departed Ardrossan Harbour about 90 minutes after arriving there at 0605 from Greenock. There is no entry in the Harbour log-book showing any vessel which required tug assistance
STRONGBOW left Ardrossan at 0740 returning to Greenock.

It is one of the maritime mysteries of the day why the tug travelled from Greenock to Ardrossan without any apparent need for her
