The Ardrossan Harbour logbook shows HANS as arriving light-ship and also as leaving as light-ship. This is strange as normally HANS and any other vessel arriving from Carnlough would be carrying a cargo of Limestone

Perhaps her stay in Ardrossan was simply waiting for orders - or waiting for a berth to become free at Irvine Harbour - and we will probably never know the answer.

However, her draft on arrival was 8' 6" and draft on sailing was 7 feet, so it may well be that she was indeed carrying Limestone from Carnlough and that the Ardrossan Harbour Control operator who wrote the ships entry in the Logbook may have made a mistake in showing her as being "light"
