A passenger from excursion steamer KING GEORGE V collapses and dies while visiting Isle of Staffa |

A 74-year-old man from Morecambe (England) collapsed and died when, with other passengers from the excursion passenger steamer KING GEORGE V, he was ashore and visiting Fingal’s Cave on the remote and uninhabited Island of Staffa. The man was on holiday in Scotland with his wife and brother and had gone ashore to visit the Cave and had just reached the entrance when he collapsed. KING GEORGE V was on her usual excursion cruise from Oban to Iona, Staffa and Tobermory and the man’s body was brought aboard the ship and taken to Oban.
