FALLOWFIELD. Built by Scheepswerven Gebroeder van Diepen N.V; Waterhuizen for Rederij Poseidon, Groningen as the MEDUSA in 1953. 1954 Sold to Zillah Shipping Co. Ltd; W.A.Savage Ltd; manager, Liverpool and renamed FALLOWFIELD. 1971 Sold to Arklow Shipping Ltd; Arklow (James Tyrell later Bay Shipping) and renamed ARKLOW BAY. 22nd Sept. 1973, while on passage from Antwerp to Arklow with potash she sank in a storm about 40 miles sw of St. Ann's Head, Pembrokeshire, All crew saved by French trawlers. Official no. 185509. 189'.8'' x 29'.6'' x 10'.5''. 265 nt 566 gt. 11 kn. |
