KOSSMATELLA was built by Swan Hunter & Wigham Richardson at Newcastle (England) in 1953 as HELIX for Shell Tankers U.K. as one of their large fleet of "H"-class oil tankers. She was 555'8" long x 69'5" breadth x 29'9ΒΌ" draft
In 1962 she was transferred to the Shell Dutch Fleet and renamed KOSSMATELLA and registered in s'Gravenhage (Hague, Netherlands) under the Dutch flag

Both as HELIX and KOSSMATELLA she made many calls at Ardrossan Harbour

She was sold for demolition in 1972 and was delivered to shipbreakers on 26th May 1972 at Hsin Kang (China) for scrap.
