Formerly Anchor Line's TUSCANIA of 1922. she was acquired in 1939 by The General Steam Navigation of Greece, known as the Greek Line and renamed NEA HELLAS and ran on their service from Greece to New York.
In 1939 she was taken by the British as a troopship for World War 2 and placed under the management of Anchor Line, Glasgow.
On return to Greece she was renamed NEW YORK, and was withdrawn in 1959
