Sailing Ship.

Mr. Oluf Olufsen, Barr Street, Ardrossan, a retired seaman, intends leaving Prestwick by plane on 1st November for a holiday in his native Denmark, where he has a married daughter,
He has a son in the Royal Navy.

When Mr. Olufsen's ship was torpedoed in 1917 he made Saltcoats his headquarters, and later came to Ardrossan where he has resided ever since.
In his early days he served in sailing ships including the "Lancing" which was no stranger to Ardrossan.
He finished his seafaring days on oil tankers.

A widower, Mr. Olufsen lives alone with his dog, a golden retriever.
