Saturday afternoon and SEALIGHT was berthed in Prince’s Dock, Glasgow with her cargo fully loaded.

The cargo, bagged malt and empty whisky casks, was for the Bruichladdich Distillery near Bowmore (Isle of Islay) and would not be unloaded there until Monday morning at the earliest.

So, it was likely that any crew members who lived locally would spend the evening and overnight at their homes, or the crew might go to a nearby public house for drink.

The following morning, Sunday, the crew would return to SEALIGHT and start down the River Clyde and pass through the Crinan Canal to Bruichladdich.
