DEVON COAST arrives in Rothesay Dock, Glasgow to load pig iron for Rotterdam

     DEVON COAST, a 3-island type general cargo coaster of Coast Lines of Liverpool, arrived at berth 3/4 Rothesay Dock, Clydebank, Glasgow, with her head east, at 0415 on 2 July 1963.   She had come light-ship from Belfast, drawing 7 feet forward and 12 feet aft, to load a cargo of 1254 tons of pig iron for Rotterdam.

   Honeyman Stevedores commenced loading the cargo at 0800 on 2 July and finished at 1030 on 3 July.

   The vessel shifted from berth 3/4 to berth 9 Rothesay Dock at 1215 on 2 July.

      DEVON COAST left Rothesay Dock at 1215 on 3 July for Rotterdam, drawing 13' 6" forward and 15' 10" aft.

Everard's coaster AMENITY arrives at Rothesay Dock, Clydebank, Glasgow from Drogheda, Ireland

  Firstly  :  Does anyone have a photograph of AMENITY which we can use on this site ?

F. T. Everard’s 1944-built 211 –feet long general cargo coaster AMENITY arrived at berth 2 Rothesay Dock, Clydebank, Glasgow, at 1700 on 3^rd July 1963, carrying 1,080 tons of clinker from Drogheda, Ireland, and her draught forward was 13’ 3” and aft 13’ 8.”

   The stevedore company J. F. Wilson began unloading at 0800 on 4^th July, completing discharge about 7 hours later, at 1445 that afternoon.

   AMENITY left Rothesay Dock at 1704 on 4^th July, light-ship for Partington on the Manchester Ship Canal, drawing 6 feet forward and 11 feet aft.

Additional note : AMENITY was broken up in 1968
