Did the German Kaiser read "The Largs and Millport Weekly News" ?

From "The Largs and Millport Weekly News" dated Saturday 22nd january 1916.

That submarine has now arrived at last, but no claims on the insurance money for the gas works, the municipal chambers, or the pierhead lavatory fall to be made so far.

The submarine which, accompanied by another type of small war vessel, lay off Cumbrae all Sunday, and attracted a great deal of attention from the inhabitants of Largs, is supposed to have been a British craft, but we know nothing more about her, and if we did we should not be allowed to tell it.

Our Millport correspondent used to think the Kaiser read "The Largs and Millport WeeklyNews."

Millport fishermen are having great hauls of herring

From "The Largs and Millport Weekly News" dated Saturday 22nd January 1916

Millport

Our fishermen are having great hauls of herring at the present time.
Occasionally a boat comes in so heavily laden that the gunwhale is but little above the water.
Prices are, we understand, good, so that that is satisfactory to men who have a hard life.
At present fish means money.

Millport steamer berths at the Keppel pier.

From "The Largs and Millport Weekly News" dated Saturday 22nd January 1916

Millport

Considerable discontent was raised in the town by the boat ending its journey on Tuesday night at the Keppel.
It was a clear night and the sea was calm, so far as ordinary people could see there was no excuse for the inconvenience caused.
So far as Wednesday was concerned, no one was surprised at the proceedings, for the weather was atrocious.
