In his speech at the annual dinner of Ardrossan Shipyard, the manager Mr. E. Aitken-Quack, said that the reduction of wages was a prime necessity ; he had been trying to get work in many directions and it was impossible to get it at the present cost of producing. |

From: Ardrossan & Saltcoats Herald dated 26th May 1972 Friday May 26, 1922 The sea wall erected on the shore opposite Winton Circus, Saltcoats, is now completed and good progress is being made with the erection of additional dressing room accommodation at the bathing pond. At a special meeting, Ardrossan Town Council by four votes to three rejected an offer by Ardrossan Dry Dock and Shipbuilding Coy, to sell the property of Castlecraigs to the council.
