Tuesday was such a wild day in the Firth that the Atalanta could have been excused her run to Arran.
She managed however to make the passage both ways although she did not attempt to take Winton Pier, Ardrossan, on her return at night but ran straight to Montgomerie Pier.

In his speech at the annual dinner of Ardrossan Shipyard, the manager Mr. E. Aitken-Quack, said that the reduction of wages was a prime necessity ; he had been trying to get work in many directions and it was impossible to get it at the present cost of producing.

The sea wall erected on the shore opposite Winton Circus, Saltcoats, is now completed and good progress is being made with the erection of additional dressing room accommodation at the bathing pond.

At a special meeting, Ardrossan Town Council by four votes to three rejected an offer by Ardrossan Dry Dock and Shipbuilding Coy, to sell the property of Castlecraigs to the council. The suggested price was not disclosed.
