Ross & Marshall's Clyde Puffer / Lighter fleet employment on 26 March 1960

 

STORMLIGHT at Glenarm, Northern Ireland, loaded

Limestone Dust for Glasgow, account of Colvilles Ltd.

  Sailed 1300.  Strong easterly wind turning early morning,

damage may have been sustained to bottom.  Belting

damaged starboard side.

 

 MOONLIGHT at Albert Pier, Rothesay and discharged

Limestone Dust from Glenarm, Northern Ireland, for

account of J Gibson & Son.

 

SEALIGHT finished discharging coal (for account of

 D Johnston & Co.) at Port Ellen, Isle of Islay.   She had

loaded the coal at Troon but was delayed in sailing from

Troon by making repairs to a leaking boiler tube.

 

WARLIGHT was at Portree, Isle of Skye, where she had

discharged a cargo of coal (for the account of R Beaton

Ltd) which she had brought from Troon.   On passage to

Portree she had to shelter in Campbeltown, being

windbound there for three days.   Today she left Portree

on the a.m. tide for Corpach where she was to load a

cargo of Lime for Lamlash (Isle of Arran)

 

POLARLIGHT laid up at Greenock.

 

LIMELIGHT was on passage from Corpach via Crinan

  Canal to Lamlash (Isle of Arran) with a 120 ton 5 cwt

cargo of Lime (for account of Highland Lime Company)

 

SKYLIGHT at Troon and loaded coal for Tarbert, Loch

Fyne, the coal for account of R Cameron & Co Ltd.

 

STARLIGHT at Furnace, Loch Fyne, at p.m. loaded
