We are very grateful to Dave (Ceylon222) for his permission to use his super, nostalgic photo of "San Casto" arriving at Ardrossan on this day. The photo was originally posted on the excellent "Ships Nostalgia" website.
Dave e-mails ;
Hi Douglas, anything that I post in the gallery is for all to be shared by the members, your have my permission to use it in the Adrossan ships web site.
I took my wife , and her mother and father on a day trip to Ardrossan, this is where my mother in law was born in 1911,her father Thomas (Tom) Hunter was serving in the RN and was drafted to Adrossan aboard minesweepers and was based there, so it was a nostalgic visit for her.
The picture was a photo of her down by the harbour and the "CASTO" was just on her way in, I split the photo to show 2 pictures, I`m only too pleased that it has shown interest and it can be put to good use.
Regards,
Dave.
Again we thank Dave for his interest and kind permission. |
