   At 2220 on 14th June LAIRDSROCK, on passage from

Belfast to Ardrossan, was near Ailsa Craig and had to

reduce speed due to fuel shortage.

   A short time later DEVON COAST was passing and

was alerted by radio, and, at 0035 on 15th June

DEVON COAST took LAIRDSROCK in tow towards

Ardrossan.

 

   At 0331 when nearing Ardrossan the tow lines

were cast off and LAIRDSROCK proceeded into the

Harbour under her own power.
