The Dock Logbook - which is a formal and legal document - shows PENNYWORTH leaving Glasgow for Seven Islands - which is an iron ore port - carrying a general cargo to that port.
Whether the entry for general cargo is a simple mistake - and the vessel departed, as normally she did, as light-ship - or whether the ship actually did take a general cargo of some quantity or description - is probably something which will never be discovered. |
