At 1735 on 18th October she settled on the ground at her berth (sitting on the bottom) at the first low-water after her arrival, her draught forward being 23 feet and aft 27' 2"

On 20th October at 0900 the harbour oiler INVERTEST came alongside and bunkered her with fuel oil for her outward voyage to Brazil

IRON ORE departed Rothesay Dock at 1300 on 21st October for Vitoria (formerly known as Victoria) Brazil

She was sold in 1969, eventually being broken up in Aliaga (Spain) in 1986.
