CATELI was sold in 1970, and had a number of subsequent owners, finally arriving, as many Netherlands and North European coasters did, in the Caribbean Sea, serving the many islands.

On 22nd September 1987 hurricane "Emily" struck the Caribbean, and the St. Vincent and Grenadines flagged REGKEN (as CATELI was then named) stranded at Vieux Port (St. Lucia). The wreck lay there until the summer of 1989 and then, on July 18, 1989, was sunk as an artificial reef at 18:09 N and 61.16 W.
