Tug FLYING DOLPHIN was heading downriver one minute ahead of Steel & Bennie's tug BRIGADIER which was towing the ore carrier ALDERSGATE downriver past Govan. Four minutes astern of ALDERSGATE was the Steel & Bennie tug CHIEFTAIN. So, it is very likely that CHIEFTAIN was involved in the handling of ALDERSGATE and had dropped her tow, but it is unknown if FLYING DOLPHIN had any part in the operation. |
