Apparently landing craft which were to be used in "Operation Neptune" - the Naval side of the "Operation Overlord" - the D-Day landings on 6th June 1944 - were being trained in amphibious handling and landing techniques in various places around Britain - and - among them - at Rosneath in the Gare Loch
