The Ardrossan Harbour tug SEAWAY was at the stern of JAVA and CHIEFTAIN at the bow as they towed JAVA stern-first from the the tanker berth at Ardrossan Harbour to the Roadstead

JAVA was built in 1960 for the A/S Det Ostasiattiske Kompagni who sold her in 1964. After a few more sales and renamings she was demolished in Taiwan in 1976
