The Steel & Bennie tug STRONGBOW had arrived at Ardrossan Harbour to assist the Harbour tug SEAWAY in sailing the ocean tanker KAAP HOORN from the tanker berth to the Roadstead.

SEAWAY towed the tanker at the stern, and STRONGBOW attached to the bow, and the trio moved stern-first from the berth to the Roads. At the roads, the Harbour Pilot released STRONGBOW and she left the tanker and Ardrossan to return to her base at Greenock
