The YORKSHIRE, launched by the Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, Govan, Glasgow, is the ninth they have built since the war for the Bibby Line of Liverpool.

   She has a raked stern, which the funnel, placed well forward on the superstructure, will match.   Her carrying capacity is 10,000 tons and there is provision for grain carrying.

   YORKSHIRE has a Fairfield-Doxford six-cylinder diesel engine of the latest type and will have a service speed of 15 ½ knots
