      BALLYGALLY HEAD arrived in Glasgow at 0505 on 20th June 1962, coming from Antwerp (Belgium) via Belfast (Northern Ireland) and berthed at 57/59 Mavisbank Quay, with her head east.   She was carrying 108 tons of general cargo to discharge, and her draught was 7' 6" forward and 10' 3" aft.

   Clyde Shipping Company stevedores started unloading at 0800 on 20th June and finished discharge at 1650 on 20th June.   They also commenced loading a general  cargo of 100 tons at 1605 on 20th June, and completed loading at 1630 on 21st June.

   Only minutes after finishing loading, BALLYGALLY HEAD cast off her mooring ropes at 1643 on 21st June, then drawing 8 feet forward and 10’ 3” aft, left the berth and started downriver to the Oil Depot at Dunglass (near Bowling) where she would refuel with fuel oil then continue on her passage to Antwerp.
