   The Cunard passenger liner QUEEN ELIZABETH was slightly damaged at her moorings at Southampton today when she was in collision with the U.S. Army Transport GENERAL S. B. BUCKNER which was arriving from New York.

   As the American ship, with U.S. Servicemen on board, was entering the dock she was caught by a gale-force gust of wind.   She was blown sideways and scraped the port side of QUEEN ELIZABETH.

   Hull plates on the liner were dented and some windows on the promenade deck were broken.

   Damage to the GENERAL S. B. BUCKNER was slight, and there were no injuries incurred to anyone on both vessels.
