CARINTHIA had arrived off Greenock to disembark passengers from Montreal and Quebec (Canada).
The liner did not berth at Greenock, and anchored at the Tail-of-the-Bank anchorage and disembarked passengers to a chartered Clyde passenger steamer which carried them to land at Princes Pier, Greenock.
The passengers’ baggage was unloaded from the anchored liner to a Clyde Puffer which was hired for the day to come alongside the ship, and the baggage was taken to Princes Pier to be reunited with the passengers.
CARINTHIA then left the Clyde, making for Liverpool where she would finish her trans-Atlantic voyage from Canada. |
