Rescued by "Glen Sannox"

A 29 year old electronics engineer, Mr. Colin German, was rescued by the Clyde car ferry "Glen Sannox" after his canoe sank off Arran on Tuesday evening.

Mr. German, who works at the Marine Biological Station at Millport was taking his canoe from Corrie when the mishap occurred.

His Mae West kept him afloat, and a passenger on the "Glen Sannox" spotted him in the water.
The ship turned, and a lifeboat was lowered.

The rescue operation was carried out in a short time, and Mr. German, suffering from exhaustion and exposure, was taken to Brodick, where a Doctor and Ambulance were standing by.
He was removed to Lamlash Hospital.
