Southampton Police Officers went aboard the liner ANDES when she returned from a West Indies cruise and docked at Southampton to make enquiries into the disappearance of a 16-year old page-boy from Southampton.

The boy was noticed to be missing when the ship was a few hours out from Teneriffe on her passage to Trinidad and the ship went back over her course and broadcast messages requesting other vessels to keep a lookout but there was no trace of the youth.
