Being requisitioned by Admiraly in 1940, H.M.S. ISLE OF GUERNSEY served as a Hospital ship at Dunkirk, then as a target ship for the Fleet Air Arm then as an Infantry Landing ship at the Normandy Landings.
She was returned to Southern Railways control in 1948 |
