   Alfred Holt’s 495-feet long Blue Funnel Line cargo liner MACHAON arrived at berth 1 King George V Dock, Glasgow at 1045 on 2nd June 1964.

   She had come from Kobe (Japan) and Penang (Malaysia) via Liverpool, her draught forward of 14’ 11” and aft 19’ 08” and was carrying an inward-bound cargo of 992 tons of general cargo to discharge in Glasgow.

    Renfrew Stevedore Company boarded the ship at 1300 on 3rd June and commenced to unload the cargo, and discharge was completed at 1000 on 8th June.

    At 0700 on 8th June MACHAON shifted ahead along the Dock from berth 1 to berth 3.

    The Renfrew Stevedore Company commenced loading an outward-bound 854 tons of general cargo at 0800 on 8th June and completed loading at 1530 on 10th June.

    MACHAON left King George V Dock at 2000 on 10th June for Singapore and Bangkok via Birkenhead, her draught forward 14’ 00” and aft 21’ 00”
