   J. Hay & Sons Ltd. general cargo coaster THE SULTAN arrived at Rothesay Dock, Clydebank, Glasgow at 1225 on 28th August 1963 carrying 650 tons of Clinker from Drogheda, Ireland, and tied-up at berth 1 with her head South.   Her draught forward was 11’ 03” and aft 12’ 00”.

    At 1750 that day she shifted from berth 1 to berth 2.

    J.F.Wilson Stevedores commenced unloading the vessel at 0800 on 29th August and completed discharge at 1145 that morning.

   THE SULTAN left Rothesay Dock at 1220 on 29th August, only 30 minutes after finishing discharge, leaving light-ship – that is .. empty, with no cargo on board – returning to Drogheda, and her draught forward was 4’ 09” and aft 13’ 00”.
