The 211-feet long Everard general cargo coaster ADAPTITY arrived at Rothesay Dock, Clydebank, Glasgow at 1830 on 2nd August 1963, and tied up at berth 5 with her head North.   She had come from Drogheda, Ireland, with 1,122 tons of Clinker and her draught forward was 13’ 06” and aft 14’ 06”

While at berth 5 on 3rd August (the Log Book shows 2nd August – this must be wrong as the vessel did not arrive until 1830 that day -) from 0700 to 0800 ADAPTITY bunkered 29.64 tons of fuel oil from a road tanker.

At 0900 on 3rd August she shifted from berth 5 to berth 1 (with her head South) and at 1040 that morning she shifted again, this time from berth 1 to berth 2 (with her head South).

    J. F. Wilson Stevedores commenced unloading at 0800 on 5th August and completed unloading at 1600 that afternoon.

About 30 minutes after finishing unloading, ADAPTITY left Rothesay Dock at 1633 on 5th August, and, being light-ship ( = empty = no cargo on board) and drawing 4’ 10” forward and 12’ 06” aft, made her way down the River Clyde on passage to Partington on the Manchester Ship Canal.
