The Dumbarton-built HOVERBUS which was on her 823-mile journey from the Clyde and going north-about through the Caledonian Canal to the Thames in London had to stop in Inverness due to the strong east wind. The builders of the hovercraft, Denny Hovercraft Ltd., are supplying the 83ft 6inches vessel for an experimental passenger-carrying service, and the craft is designed for use in sheltered waters. After Inverness she will go to Macduff, then Aberdeen, then Berwick-on-Tweed and then to other stops in England on passage to London.
