A few days earlier, on 24th September, Alfred Holt’s

 cargo ship PATROCLUS had arrived at King

 George V Dock and found that there was no labour

 available to unload her cargo from the Far East.

   Later that evening PATROCLUS left Glasgow

 for Liverpool, still  with her unloaded cargo.

   As a result, ADRIATIC COAST arrived at

Glasgow bringing the cargo which had been

transhipped to her at Liverpool from PATROCLUS
