At 2220 on 14th June LAIRDSROCK, on passage from Belfast to Ardrossan, was near Ailsa Craig and had to reduce speed due to fuel shortage. A short time later DEVON COAST was passing and was alerted by radio, and, at 0035 on 15th June DEVON COAST took LAIRDSROCK in tow towards Ardrossan. At 0331 when nearing Ardrossan the tow lines were cast off and LAIRDSROCK proceeded into the Harbour under her own power. |
