Two of Hay's puffers, BOER and INCA, were chartered by the film-maker to portray the puffer MAGGIE in the comedy film "The MAGGIE"
BOER, a single screw steel lighter, was 66 feet long,17.55 feet breadth and draught of 6.85 feet was built at Kirkintilloch (on the Forth and Clyde Canal near Glasgow) in 1941, and was scrapped in 1965.
