Contributed by George Tait (Glasgow) At times in 1960s and 1970s I worked on William Robertson’s coasters all around the Irish Sea. One of the old deckhands used to tell stories of 1950s when he was on Robertson’s old TOURMALINE ??? (1950s) and the coaster was on long time charter to work on the west African coast, carrying drums of petrol all around Ghana, Nigeria and other places. Does anyone know of this charter to Africa ? |
