Tug FLYING DUCK at bow and tug FLYING SPITFIRE at stern were towing RUYSDAEL from berth 4 Meadowside Quay ahead and passing Govan Watch House at Govan Wharf, Govan, Glasgow, and heading East upriver. At Prince's Dock canting basin (= a large area of water where a ship can be turned around 180 degrees) the two tugs canted (= turned) RUYSDAEL and the ship was then able to proceed down the River Clyde on the start of her passage to her next port-of-call. |
