The usual vessel serving on the Caledonian MacBrayne’s Largs – Cumbrae service is the LOCH SHIRA but she has been out of service for around a month after a heavy goods vehicle damaged the hinges of a ramp, so, as temporary replacements, CalMac have tasked two smaller capacity vessels LOCH TARBERT and LOCH BHRUSDA onto the service. The replacement parts for the damaged ramp were not readily available and needed to be specially manufactured (in Poland ?). In the first image the vessel on the left is LOCH TARBERT leaving Largs and the vessel on the right is LOCH BHRUSDA about to approach Largs and then land on the slipway. |
