TANKER GROUNDED AND REFLOATED

While in the process of being berthed at Ardrossan Harbour last Friday afternoon, the Norwegian tanker "AINO," with two tugs in attendance, grounded a short distance off Montgomerie Pier.

Attempts to refloat the vessel were at first unsuccessful, but, with the rising tide and after 250 tons of her cargo had been discharged into a lighter, she was floated again about 2 o'clock on Saturday morning, and proceeded alongside the wharf.

The Aino was carrying a cargo of 9000 tons of fuel oil from Aruba.
