From "Ayrshire Post" dated Friday 18th February 1949

FIRST SINCE 1939
The first cargo of limestone to be discharged at Ayr Harbour since 1939 came in on Tuesday when the "Pyrope," owned by William Robertson, Glasgow, unloaded a cargo of 500 tons brought from North Wales.
200 tons are for iron works at Glasgow, and the rest, already ground, is for use as fertiliser on Ayrshire farms.
