Port of RegistryGlasgow

From "The Ardrossan & Saltcoats Herald" dated Friday 7th August 1964

HOME AGAIN

Two elderly "Ladies" returned to their birth-place this week.
They are the MacBrayne steamers "Lochmor" and "Lochearn," which have been sold to Greek owners, and they are at present in drydock at Ardrossan Dockyard for inspection.

The "Lochmor" and "Lochearn" were built in the dockyard in 1928 and for over 30 years they have battled against the westerly gales and maintained a service which has brought credit to their builders.

The ships were familiar to thousands of holidaymakers, whom they carried from Oban to the Inner Isles.
During the war they performed notable service.

Ardrossan Dockyard was a busy place when the ships were built.
Several of the present employees can remember as having worked as apprentices on the building of the "Lochmor" and the "Lochearn."
