Death of Mr. William Kerr, Customs and Excise, Ardrosan Harbour

MR. W. A. KERR

Mr. William Archibald Turner Kerr, who lived at 5 Oak Road, Ardrossan, died suddenly on Tuesday at Ballochmyle Hospital. He was aged 61.

Mr. Kerr was well known in the town and especially in shipping circles.
He worked for the Customs and Excise at Ardrossan Harbour where he was a Preventive Officer.

Born in Millport, Mr. Kerr joined the Customs and Excise in 1930 and worked in various parts of the country including Glasgow, Greenock and at Prestwick Airport before being appointed Preventive Officer at Ardrossan Harbour in 1960.

Mr. Kerr, who is survived by his wife and married son and daughter, had been in apparent good health until Tuesday.
